Association of Netherlands Municipalities (VNG) offers guide for Adult Education
On January 1st 2015, the law for education and vocational education (WEB) has been amended. As this amendment has direct consequences for the Dutch municipalities, VNG has decided to create a guide. The amendment also offers opportunities for organizations in the field of adult education, for example libraries.

A brief overview:
- The forced sourcing of adult education by ROC's will be reduced in phases (2015 – 75%; 2016 – 50%; 2017 – 25% and 2018 – 0%).
- Municipalities can offer both formal as non-formal education processes.
- The law provides municipal cooperation on a regional level.
- 'Contact municipalities' will hold a coordinating role in terms of regional education policy.
